Post-doctoral Fellowship

The Graduate Center of the City University of New York announces a post-doctoral fellowship for a scholar pursuing research on race and racialization in the Middle East/North Africa and among Middle Easterners/North Africans in the United States. The successful applicant must have the doctorate in hand by the start of the fellowship (August 25, 2021), but be no more than seven years beyond the granting of the PhD. The fellowship carries an award of $75,000 for one year; benefits are included. The recipient will be expected to present a lecture, to interact with graduate students, and to be an active participant in the year-long events (a seminar, a series of workshops, and a graduate course) associated with the Mellon-funded Sawyer Seminar, “Race and the Middle East/North Africa.” If the Graduate Center is open, the recipient is expected to attend events in person.
