The Department of World Languages at the University of Arkansas invites applications for the Assistant Director of the Center for World Languages. Primary responsibilities focus on the development of digital media to highlight the activities and achievements of students, faculty, and alumni of the Department of World Languages, and include the creation and distribution of engaging content through pictures and text. Duties also include maintaining an effective social media presence and content on the department website, offering design support for posters and pamphlets, and assisting the Director with the day-to-day management of the Language Center.

The position is a 12-month appointment with competitive salary and benefits, renewable annually contingent upon program needs, satisfactory performance and continued availability of funding. Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications:

MA degree from an accredited institution of higher education

Working knowledge of PC and Apple computers and products

Demonstrable strong story-writing and editing skills

Strong interpersonal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to develop articles, blogs, posts and other materials from academic research materials and on academic topics

Self-directed and motivated employee that can also work well in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with digital media production and graphic design software

Experience with web design and content management

MA in a second language

Experience living or studying abroad
