Director of Basic Language Program in Russian

The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures in the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California, invites applicants for a full-time, teaching-track faculty position as Director of the Basic Language Program in Russian, ideally to begin August 16, 2021.  Possible titles, depending on merit, background, and experience are:  Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Master Lecturer, Assistant, Associate, or Professor (Teaching). 

The successful candidate must have demonstrated excellence in teaching.  His or her qualifications should include an M.A. or PhD in Applied Linguistics or Russian/Slavic with a scholarly or practical background in second language acquisition.  Candidates will ideally also have experience supervising other instructors, mentoring graduate assistant lecturers, and developing curriculum.
