The Department of German, Russian and East European Studies invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of German Studies. Ideal candidates combine significant research specializations in contemporary German cultures and literatures with the eagerness to teach a broad range of courses at all levels of instruction in the Department and the Max Kade Center for European and German Studies. They will provide substantial contributions to undergraduate program development and aspire to contribute to collaborative research and teaching initiatives within and beyond the Department. While the area of specialization is open, candidates with particular interests in transnationalism and multilingualism; migration and displacement; ecology and environmental studies; race, ethnicity, and gender studies; and comparative humanisms are strongly encouraged to apply.
