UPDATE: NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS via Interfolio. The University of Tennessee seeks an Assistant Professor in Poetry Writing, tenure track. Requirements include (1) a history of excellent teaching, (2) a substantial record of publication, and (3) an MFA or PhD in hand. Besides significant creative output, duties will include both graduate and undergraduate workshops, instructor-designed Special Topics courses, and active supervision of student writing projects on all levels. Salaries and teaching loads are competitive, and our endowment provides ample support for research and travel.
The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.
We are a “Doctoral/Research Extensive” institution, with a departmental endowment that supports research. The English Department offers the BA, MA, MFA, and PhD. Professors teach a 2/2 load, distributed across undergraduate and graduate courses.
