Assistant Professor

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at UC Davis is dedicated to goals of diversity, equity, and inclusion. As part of our university’s mission to grow as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), we invite applications for a tenure-track position in 20th/21st century Mexican, Mexican American and/or Central American literatures and cultures. Research with a transnational or cross-border focus is desirable. The appointee is expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Latin American and Chicanx/Latinx literatures and cultures. Applicants must demonstrate exceptional promise as scholars and teachers, and have the ability to mentor graduate students. The successful applicant will be able to contribute to the shared governance and intellectual life of the department and the larger UC Davis community. A PhD in Spanish or any other related field is required and must be in hand prior to the first day of classes on September 20, 2020. The position will remain open until filled.
