Assistant Professor of British or Anglophone literature and culture of the long eighteenth century

The Department of English at Indiana University, Bloomington invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in British and Anglophone literature and culture of the long eighteenth century, including Romanticism, beginning August 2020. Desirable secondary interests might include any of the following: drama and performance, digital humanities, the global eighteenth century, new media, and literature and science. Theoretical interests in gender and sexuality, disability studies, race and racialization, ecocriticism, philosophy of mind, and animal studies would also be welcomed. The successful candidate will teach courses in their specialty at the graduate level, work with PhD students, and offer courses for our undergraduate major as well as for our general education curriculum. The position requires a strong research agenda, excellence in teaching, and a PhD completed prior to August 2020.
