Assistant Professor in French and Spanish

The Modern Languages and Literatures discipline welcomes applications for a tenure-track position at the level of assistant professor in French and Spanish beginning fall 2020. Candidates are expected to have their Ph.D. in French in hand by fall 2020, and be able to demonstrate a solid pedagogical foundation, teaching experience, excellent language skills, and an active scholarly agenda. M.A. in Spanish preferred, or 18 credits in Spanish coursework at the graduate level. This position includes the possibility of teaching a course in one’s area of expertise in English within the College’s core curriculum. In addition to teaching and a scholarly agenda, the responsibilities of this position include student advising, service on college committees, and other typical collegial duties. Select candidates will be invited to interview at the MLA convention or via video conferencing.
