The Department of English and Writing within the College of Arts and Letters at The University of Tampa seeks candidates for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of English and Writing (Poetry/Nonfiction) to begin August 2020.

 

The University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially based private institution of 9,200 undergraduate and graduate students. We seek applications from writers who have achieved distinction in one or more genres of long-form, narrative nonfiction broadly understood, including memoir, literary journalism, travel writing, and digital storytelling, and who can demonstrate excellence in teaching and a commitment to diversity in the academy. We are particularly interested in writers with a proven interest in bringing to their teaching, mentoring, and writing critical perspectives reflecting the experiences of groups who have been historically underrepresented or marginalized in higher education. Preference will be given to candidates with specific experience and/or training in curriculum development and assessment in a creative writing context. 

 

A terminal degree is required.
