The Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies is especially interested in a candidate engaged in innovative theoretical and/or interdisciplinary approaches to Mexican twentieth and twenty-first centuries literary and cultural studies. Preference will be given to those candidates with expertise in immigration, border studies, indigeneity, and/or extractivism, as well as those candidates with a research focus on the intersection of literature with visual or performance studies. Knowledge of indigenous languages will be considered a plus.
A Ph.D. in Spanish or related field (including its foreign equivalent) is required, as well as native or near-native fluency in English and Spanish. The Ph.D. must be in hand by the start date (August 31, 2020).
