The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at Lafayette College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in German at the rank of Assistant Professor. Area of specialization is open. The Department welcomes candidates with interdisciplinary interests, including, but not limited to: race and ethnicity, transculturalism, and gender and sexuality. The appointment will begin July 1, 2020. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at all levels of the undergraduate German program and to be able to contribute to interdisciplinary programs. The teaching load is 2/2 in the first year, 3/2 thereafter. Salary and benefits are competitive.

 

Qualifications:

  • Native or near-native proficiency in German and English is required.
  • Proven record of published and ongoing scholarship
  • 2+ years of teaching experience at the college level demonstrating a strong commitment to curricular development, inclusive pedagogies, and the incorporation of innovative and accessible language-learning technologies. 
  • Ph.D. is required at the time of appointment.
