The Department of English at Syracuse University is seeking applicants in the field of African American/African Diaspora Studies.

This recruitment is part of an ambitious Invest Syracuse Cluster Hire Initiative in the broad area of Social Difference, Social Justice. As an integral part of this investment, Syracuse University will recruit multiple candidates for faculty positions for a research cluster in the focus area of Social Difference, Social Justice.

The successful applicant's work engages with the representations, experiences, and literary/cultural output of people of African descent in the US and across the African diaspora, including the Caribbean.

This scholar should have a strong research profile in areas of critical race theory, social justice, transnationalism, empire, and postcolonialism. Secondary research interests in gender, sexuality, environmentalism, and digital humanities are welcome.
