The English Department at the University of Dallas invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor.  The University of Dallas is a Catholic liberal arts institution that features an extensive core curriculum for undergraduates and offers a robust and rigorous undergraduate English major, two Masters programs in English, and a Ph.D. program in Literature within an interdisciplinary program, the Institute of Philosophic Studies.

The successful candidate will show demonstrable interest in teaching canonical literary texts from Homer to the present and have the philosophical, historical, and literary breadth to be successful in our curriculum.  Candidates in any field of English or American Literature are encouraged to apply, but we have a particular interest in American literature or lyric poetry.  The usual teaching load is 3/3 with two preparations per semester.  A Ph.D. is required.  The position will start in August 2020.
