Open Rank Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Russian

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Teaching Professor or Lecturer in Russian Language and Culture. This non-tenure track position, with a one-year contract beginning August 2021, carries a 4-4 course load, with the expectation of renewal. Native or near-native proficiency in Russian and English required. Candidates with a PhD in Russian or Russian Studies preferred. 

 We are seeking candidates with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching at all levels of Russian language, as well as beginning to more advanced culture courses. The ideal candidate will help further develop the curriculum in our Russian program. Candidates should possess a commitment to expand knowledge and awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The successful candidate for an Assistant Teaching Professor appointment will hold a PhD in Russian or Russian Studies and have at least one year of teaching experience as an instructor of record at the university level. Candidates with a MA and at least 5 years post-secondary experience will be considered for a Lecturer position. Experience in creating and teaching courses online is highly desirable.
