Visiting Instructor or Assistant Professor of Spanish Medieval, Golden Age, and/or Colonial Latin American Literature


Effective July 1, 2021. Visiting Instructor or Assistant Professor in Spanish Medieval, Golden Age, and/or Colonial Latin American literature. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate fully in the rich interdisciplinary culture of Wesleyan University, including Medieval Studies events, the colloquium-style Renaissance Seminar, and/or the rich program of Latin American Studies events. Requirements: Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and evidence of excellence in undergraduate teaching. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in hand by the time of appointment to be hired as a Visiting Assistant Professor; a successful candidate may be hired as a Visiting Instructor if the candidate does not have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment but will complete it within one year of hire. Typical teaching load for visitors:  two advanced seminars taught in Spanish and three sections of an intermediate-advanced language, literature, and culture course.
