The Department of Romance Languages & Literatures seeks applications for a Preceptor in French. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2021. The preceptor will be responsible for teaching two courses per semester at the intermediate and advanced levels. Administrative duties include assisting with training and supervising teaching fellows and curriculum development (intermediate/advanced levels). This is a two-year appointment, pending first year review, with the possibility of reappointment, contingent on performance, enrollments, curricular need, position availability, and divisional dean authorization. The successful applicant should be well versed in the issues of teaching French as a foreign language. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with language course coordination and teaching fellow supervision. Specialization in language pedagogy and second language acquisition is highly desirable as well as experience teaching language courses through current events, media, and contemporary film. Applicants should have native or near-native proficiency in French. A strong doctoral record is preferred as well as working knowledge of instructional technology.

6.   Names and contact information of at least three referees, who will be asked by a system-generated email to upload a letter of recommendation once the candidate’s application has been submitted. Three letters of recommendation are required, and the application is considered complete only when at least three letters have been received.
