Visiting Assistant Professor in Creative Writing and Journalism

The Department of English at Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin, invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position (non-tenure track, with possibility for renewal for a second year) beginning in Fall of 2021. The position requires teaching Introduction to Journalism, Magazine Feature Writing, Creative Nonfiction and Fiction, and one or two sections of introductory creative writing and introduction to literary studies. The teaching load is 3-3.

Beloit College has a long and distinctive history in the field of creative writing, including an annual visiting Mackey Chair in Writing and the Beloit Fiction Journal. Class sizes are small (cap 15) and students are engaged. The successful candidate will have the freedom to design courses to their strengths and interests.

Qualifications: Ph.D. or MFA in English, Creative Writing, or appropriate field. Teaching experience, newsroom experience, and publications are desirable.
