Instructor/Assistant Professor of English

INSTRUCTOR OR ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ENGLISH

The Department of English in the College of Arts and Science at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites applications for one full-time, renewable non-tenure-earning faculty position at the Instructor or Assistant Professor rank, beginning in the 2021-2022 academic year (August 15, 2021).

The successful candidate will teach a 4/4 load of writing courses, including regular composition courses and courses for students in our developmental writing track. College-level teaching experience in classroom and online formats is required. Preference will be given to candidates whose pedagogical approach incorporates digital literacies and student engagement with multimodal discourses, as well as demonstrated interest in and experience teaching diverse student populations.

Masters degree in English, Rhetoric/Composition, or related field is required for instructorship; terminal degree in English, Rhetoric/Composition, or related field is required for Assistant Professor rank. Degree must be completed by August 15, 2021.

Compensation will depend on experience.
