Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Dickinson College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish with primary specialization Latinx/Chicanx Studies. We would also welcome a candidate’s ability to offer courses in Mexican literature and culture.  This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal. Candidates will be expected to teach five courses a year, which will include Spanish language courses and courses in their specialty. The additional ability to teach Brazilian Portuguese is desirable. A Ph.D. in Spanish or comparable field by the time of appointment is preferred. The successful candidate will be committed to undergraduate education in the liberal arts, have a strong research agenda, and be willing to contribute to the life of our learning community. The ability to create inclusive learning environments for an increasingly diverse student body will be an important characteristic of the successful candidate.
