Visiting Assistant Professor of Poetry and Screenwriting

The English department at St. Lawrence University invites applications for a one-year, full time visiting appointment in poetry writing and screenwriting for the 2021-22 academic year. We plan to offer in-person courses for the academic year. The successful candidate will offer coursework in beginning and advanced poetry writing, as well as in the literary genre of poetry. The successful candidate will also offer coursework in beginning and advanced screenwriting. The normal teaching load is three (3) courses per semester. M.F.A. in Poetry and poetry publications are required. Ph.D. with creative dissertation preferred. Experience with screenwriting also strongly preferred.

The Department of English at St. Lawrence University has 12 full-time faculty members plus an annual Viebranz Visiting Professor of Creative Writing and offers courses in British, American, and World literatures as well as Creative Writing: poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and screenwriting. Our undergraduate major includes concentrations in Literary Studies and Creative Writing.
