Assistant Teaching Professor of Latinx Literature and Culture at Syracuse University

The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics in The College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University invites applicants for a full-time academic year, non-tenure track, Assistant Teaching Professor of Latinx Literature and Culture. Position will be hired on a three-year term contract with possibility of renewal. This is an academic year appointment. Appointee must be available to start on August 23, 2021.

A Ph.D. in Latinx Literature and Culture or related field required in hand by August 2021. Native or near-native fluency in standard spoken and written Spanish and English required. The successful candidate will demonstrate an active record of research and publication in Latino literature and cultural studies and excellence in teaching. Teaching duties will include four courses per semester, including both undergraduate and Master’s-level. In addition, the selected candidate will advise MA students on their final projects. Varied national and cultural representations within the Latinx field and a strong theoretical approach are desired in both research and teaching.
