Lecturer in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program and English and Creative Writing Department

Dartmouth College (Hanover, NH) seeks to appoint a non-tenure-track Lecturer for a 12-month, joint appointment in the Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program (WGSS) and the Department of English and Creative Writing, beginning on July 1, 2021. The successful candidate will teach two core courses in WGSS (Introduction to Sex, Gender and Society, and Contemporary Issues in Feminism), a third elective course, and two courses in the Department of English and Creative Writing, focusing on Asian American literature, culture, or creative writing. The teaching load of five courses will be distributed across the fall, winter, and spring quarters. There are no service expectations. This is a non-tenure track position with the possibility of renewal for a second year depending on the staffing needs of the departments. The position, which requires classroom teaching, comes with a competitive salary, benefits eligibility, and travel/research funds.

Qualifications

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. (or be ABD with degree in hand by September 2021) in women’s, gender, and sexuality studies or a related field, with a sub-specialization in Asian American literature or a related field of literary or cultural studies. In evaluating the applications, we’ll consider evidence of teaching experience and/or potential, as well as evidence of an active research program.
