Visting Assistant Professor of Spanish: One-Year Appointment

Position Summary:

 

Gettysburg College invites applications for a one-year visiting faculty position in Spanish at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor (http://www.gettysburg.edu/academics/spanish/index.dot ) beginning August 2021. 

Qualifications:

Candidate should have a strong commitment to teaching Spanish language at the undergraduate level. The Department seeks a candidate who has experience and interest in working with and supporting heritage speakers and underrepresented students. The teaching load is 3/3 and includes beginning and intermediate levels of Spanish language. Native or near-native fluency required. Ph.D. preferred; ABD considered.

A cover letter, curriculum vitae, and a statement of teaching philosophy must be submitted.  In addition, applicants should submit the names and email addresses of three professional references of faculty familiar with their teaching responsabilities and perfomance.  After the search committee’s preliminary selection of candidates, professional references will be contacted by Gettysburg College via email to submit letters of recommendation electronically.  At least one individual should be able to speak to the candidate’s teaching effectiveness.
