Visiting Assistant Professor / Instructor of French

Pacific Lutheran University invites applications for a visiting position in French & Francophone Studies at the assistant professor or instructor rank for the 2021-22 academic year.  The successful candidate will teach six courses: in the fall, beginning French I (FREN 101), Advanced French (FREN 301), and French/Francophone Feminisms (FREN 306/406). In the Spring, beginning French II (FREN 102), Intermediate French II (FREN 202), and a film or literature class on a theme of the candidate’s choosing. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in French. ABD will be considered, but degree must be completed by September 1, 2021 for appointment at the assistant professor level. Experience teaching at all levels of the French curriculum is preferred, as are expertise in francophone literature/film and inclusive teaching strategies. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and will include a benefits package.
