Adjunct Professor of Japanese

Responsibilities: Teach 1 to 3 courses in Japanese. Courses for Fall 2021 will include an Intermediate Language course, Advanced Language course, Upper level literature course, and adjuncts choice of literature topic (taught primarily in Japanese). The department is looking for an adjunct professor who can teach one or more Japanese courses (maximum three) per semester. For Fall 2021, courses include a 200-level Intermediate Japanese language course, a 400-level Advanced Japanese language course and a 400-level Studies in Genre literature course.

Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a Ph.D. in a relevant field at time of employment and to applicants who are proficient in both Japanese and English that have demonstrated teaching excellence. Candidate can choose to teach face-to-face or synchronous online using Zoom, but has to reside in the United States. A Master's degree is required.

Preferred: Ph.D. preferred for 400-level courses.
