Clinical/Lecture Track Faculty - Language Program Director - German

The Department of Modern Languages and Classics at The University of Alabama invites applications for a specialist in language pedagogy to direct first and second-year German language programs beginning August 16, 2021. This is a non-tenure track, three-year appointment for Assistant or Associate Professor of German with the opportunity for renewal and promotion to Associate Professor and Professor. The successful applicant will teach a range of courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, with service and administrative duties, including direct oversight, mentoring, and teaching of graduate teaching assistants. Experience directing personnel and expertise in technology-assisted language learning desired. Demonstrated excellence in teaching, and native or near-native English and German proficiency required. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in German in hand by August 15, 2021, and to candidates with an ongoing research agenda. The University of Alabama is a Goethe-Institut Examination Center.
