Visiting Instructor of German; Department of World Languages, Literatures and Cultures

University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.

The Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a non-tenure-track visiting appointment at the rank of Instructor of German. This position is a non-renewable 9-month appointment (August 2021-May 2022). We are seeking a generalist with the ability to teach a variety of content and language courses in the target language; area of specialization is open. The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester, with the opportunity to develop a seminar of their own choosing.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD or ABD status in German Studies or related field at the time of appointment.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach language courses effectively.
  • Near-native fluency in German and English.
