Visiting Assistant Professor - Film Studies

St. Lawrence University invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in Film and Representation Studies to begin August 2021.  Specializations in African American cinema, Latinx and Latin American cinema, LGBTQ cinema, or Women’s cinema are especially desired. Scholars with the ability to teach filmmaking or screenwriting are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will teach 3 film studies courses per semester, including special topics courses in their field and either Introduction to Film Studies, History of Cinema, or Film Theory. Ph.D. preferred at the time of appointment, but advanced ABD candidates will also be considered. Experience teaching film studies at the undergraduate level is required.
