NON-TENURE-TRACK ADJUNCT LECTURERS IN SPANISH

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Northwestern University invites applications for several full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure track, adjunct instructors at the rank of Lecturer for the Spanish Language Program. These are 10-month positions that will begin on September 1, 2021 and go through June 30, 2022, with a salary of $50,000. The successful candidates will teach two Spanish language courses per quarter (three quarters in total).

Requirements include native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English; PhD in Second Language Acquisition, Applied Linguistics, or in a field related to Spanish language instruction; demonstrated successful language teaching experience at the college/university level; and ability to work effectively with educational technologies used in language teaching and learning. A research profile in foreign language and/or heritage learners’ pedagogy, and familiarity with the ACTFL proficiency guidelines is highly desired.
