Full-time Lecturer in Spanish

Cornell College, a selective undergraduate liberal arts college located in Mount Vernon, Iowa, invites applications for full-time Lecturer in Spanish, to teach six (6) sections of Spanish 101, 102 and 103 in the 2021-2022 academic year. These courses are the first, second, and third courses in a three-course sequence of Spanish language learning, which provides students with an introduction to speaking, reading, writing, and listening comprehension in Spanish. Cornell courses are taught on a One-Course-At-A-Time schedule, in which faculty members teach and students take one course at a time, meeting daily, M-F, for three and a half week terms. In these courses, students will interact actively in class through group activities, dialogues, and oral work. The texts emphasize culture, literature and contemporary life in Spanish-speaking countries. Doctorate in Spanish or related field preferred; candidates with a master's degree considered. This position is for one year with the possibility of renewal.

Teaching hours: 9-12 or 12-3 daily.
