The Department of English in the College of Liberal Arts at Texas A&M University invites applications for multiple full-time academic professional track (non-tenure) Lecturers in English (Rhetoric) for the 2021-2022 academic year, with possibility of renewal. The start date for this position is August 16, 2021; classes will begin on August 30. The position requires a PhD in English or Rhetoric, with a specialization in rhetoric, writing, or technical/professional communication.
Lecturers hold non-tenured appointments with responsibility for teaching. The teaching load is 4-4 and will consist primarily of undergraduate courses in professional/technical communication, rhetoric, and composition. The ideal candidate will have experience in face-to-face and online instruction and a demonstrated commitment to using Open Educational Resources. Candidates may have the opportunity to teach specialized sections of professional/technical communication writing focused on contemporary issues such as global health advocacy, social justice, digital ethics, global Englishes, civic engagement, and the environment.

The position requires a PhD in English, Rhetoric or a related field, with a specialization in rhetoric, writing, or technical/professional communication and relevant teaching experience.
