Lecturer, World Languages and Literatures

The Department of World Languages and Literatures at Skidmore College invites applications for the position of part-time lecturer in Chinese language for the fall and spring semesters of the 2021-22 academic year.

Responsibilities include teaching a maximum of two Chinese language courses per semester. Requirements include a minimum of an MA in Chinese linguistics, language pedagogy, second-language acquisition or a related field; native or near-native proficiency in Chinese and excellent command of English; and evidence of experience and commitment to language teaching at all levels typically offered in U.S. universities and colleges. 

A complete application dossier should include the following: a cover letter; a current CV; a statement explaining your approach to, and experience in, Chinese language teaching; samples of teaching materials; and an optional video demonstration of classroom teaching.  Additionally, please provide a list of three references (names and contact information) with letters available upon request. The deadline for applications is July 9. Review of applications will begin immediately after the deadline and will continue until the position is filled.
