The Department of English at Brigham Young University announces a continuing faculty status (tenure) track position. While we are looking for strong candidates in all fields, we are especially seeking candidates in Creative Writing (fiction) and English Teaching (technology and/or reading specialist). Required degree: PhD in American Literature, British Literature, Rhetoric or Composition, Creative Writing, or English Teaching. Required degree must be completed by the start date.
Experience:
- Current collegiate-level teaching record in literature, composition, creative writing, or English teaching courses
- Current record of publication in field
Duties/Expectations:
- Teach English program core courses, literature, rhetoric or composition, creative writing, or English teaching courses
- Teach in-person (not online). No exceptions.
- Maintain an active research program, including scholarly publications
- Serve on department, college, and/or university committees
- Participate in faculty meetings and other academic discussions
