Assistant Professor of Spanish, tenure-track

Spanish. Assistant Professor of Spanish, tenure-track position, to
start in September, 2022.

Ph.D. in Spanish required and native or near native fluency in Spanish. The successful applicant will show a firm commitment to teaching all levels of language and evidence of teaching excellence. Experience and willingness to participate in study-abroad is highly preferred. Focus on the culture, film or literature of Spain a plus.

Duties include teaching seven courses (3-1-3) per academic year, an active research agenda, contribution to college/departmental service and
mentoring undergraduate students. Participation in an interdisciplinary,
values-oriented general education program is required, including a regular
rotation in the two-semester first-year program. Eckerd College, the only
independent national liberal arts college in Florida, has a tradition of
