Assistant or Associate Professor of Hispanic Studies (20th/21st century Latin Amer. lit & culture)

The Department of Romance Studies at Cornell University invites applications for a full time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Latin American Studies. We are especially interested in scholars working in the following fields: critical theory, Mexican and/or Southern Cone literature, ecocriticism, and nineteenth - twentieth century Latin America. Applicants should demonstrate strong interdisciplinary interests, theoretical competence, evidence of commitment to research and teaching, and commitment to the advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Applicants should have native or near-native fluency in Spanish. Ph.D. required by the appointment start date of July 1, 2022. The Department of Romance Studies has a longstanding commitment to theory and interdisciplinary research. It is the home of the journal diacritics and it has strong ties with other departments or programs, such as Comparative Literature, Africana Studies, Feminist Gender and Sexuality Studies, French Studies, or the Society for the Humanities.
