Teaching Assistant/Associate Professor of Hebrew

Work type: Faculty Full-Time
Location: Denver, CO
Categories: Faculty

The Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures offers programs in nine modern languages, including majors and minors in French, German, Italian, Russian, and Spanish, plus minors in Chinese, Hebrew, Japanese, and Latin, and electives in Arabic and classical Greek.

Incorporating music, poetry, short stories, media and movies, the Hebrew Minor introduces students to Hebrew at various levels of the languages while enriching their exploration of Israel’s pluralist mosaic. The minor is particularly invaluable to research of the Middle East and its politics, economics, technology, journalism, religion, peace, migration and international studies as well as other fields of study. In addition to the Hebrew minor, the program also collaborates with the Center for Judaic Studies to offer a minor in Judaic Studies with a Hebrew emphasis and is a key contributor to the interdisciplinary minor in Middle East Studies.

The Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures is strongly committed to building a diverse and inclusive educational environment, which is in full accord with the value that DU places on its commitments to diversity, equity and inclusion. Candidates must demonstrate ability to integrate content and issues relating to, and to work effectively with, ethnically/racially diverse populations.
