Tenure-Track Assistant or Associate Professor of Technical and Professional Communication

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor of Technical and Professional Communication with expertise in global scientific communication, whose research and teaching intersect with contemporary issues such as human rights, social justice, digital ethics, global Englishes, civic engagement, public health, and the environment. We are a Doctoral/Research Extensive institution, with a significant departmental endowment that supports research. The department offers the BA, MA, MFA, and PhD. Salaries are competitive; professors teach a 2/2 load, distributed across undergraduate and graduate courses. The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee seeks candidates who can contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.

Candidates should have a PhD in technical and professional communication, or in a related field, in hand or expected by August 2022, a record of excellent teaching, a body of scholarship warranting appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank, and an active research agenda.
