Assistant/Associate Professor in Hispanic Linguistics

The Department of Spanish & Portuguese at the University of Texas at Austin (https://liberalarts.utexas.edu/spanish/) is seeking applicants for an Advanced Assistant /Associate Professor in Hispanic Linguistics, beginning September 1, 2022. Position funding is subject to budget availability. The candidate should be specialized in Second Language Acquisition and/or Heritage Spanish and should employ experimental or computational methods in the analysis of linguistic phenomena. Special consideration will be given to candidates who can offer any, or a combination, of the following fields: phonetics/phonology, syntax/semantics, discourse/pragmatics and who can carry out field, laboratory or corpus research that links empirical findings to theory.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D., and native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English are required. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated evidence of high-quality research and teaching.
