APU is currently inviting applications for the following three positions:
 

Director of the Tutoring Center (F737) - As a full-time faculty member the Director provides oversight and direction for the Tutoring Center operations as well as its professional and student coaches. In accordance with the university strategic plan and the vision of the Office of the Provost, the Director oversees, implements, and assesses Tutoring Center activities that serve APU students (graduate, undergraduate, and professional) and academic departments across two Azusa campuses and multiple regional sites. The Director often networks with Faculty from every academic program, the Writing Center Faculty and Coaches, the Academic Success Center Director and Coaches among others to foster academic success among APU students. The Tutoring Center supports a diverse student population, requiring the Tutoring Center Director to have a strong record in and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusivity. 

 

Writing Program Administrator (F731) -  This is a full-time faculty position which serves in a leadership role to oversee the development, management, and supervision of writing programs for undergraduate, graduate, and degree completion courses at APU. Duties include initiating faculty development programs to improve writing pedagogy, establishing and assessing writing outcomes across the curriculum, teaching four writing courses per academic year, and serving on undergraduate and graduate committees to represent writing programs and ensure writing outcomes are being met. As WPA, the successful candidate will supervise the hiring and training of writing faculty and provide guidance for curricular development and assessment for Writing 1, 2, and 3. The Writing Program Administrator will also oversee the writing program staff and will manage the office budget. The WPA may also eventually serve as chair for a potential Department of Writing and Rhetoric. 

 

Writing Center Director (F732) -  This is a full-time faculty position.  In accordance with the strategic initiatives implemented by the Writing Program Administrator, the Writing Center Director oversees, implements, and assesses activities serving both APU students (graduate, undergraduate, and professional) and faculty writers across two Azusa campuses and multiple regional sites. The successful candidate will strategically network with every academic program, relevant academic affairs offices, the Center of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment, Office of Research and Grants, and University Libraries to serve the writing needs of this R2 institution.  Finally, the Writing Center supports a diverse student population, requiring the Writing Center Director to have a strong record in and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivity.
