Assistant Professor of Chinese

The Languages and Cultures Department of the U.S. Naval Academy invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Chinese to begin as early as the fall semester of 2022. The United States Naval Academy (USNA) is a four-year undergraduate institution with a mission to prepare midshipmen morally, mentally, and physically for commissioning as officers in the naval services. Candidates for this position should have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and to producing quality peer-reviewed research. The research specialization is open, but expertise in Chinese literature, art and architecture, or cultural studies (women’s and gender studies, media and film studies, etc.) is strongly preferred. Candidates should be able to teach Chinese language courses across all levels, as well as advanced courses in their area(s) of expertise.
