The School of Humanities Program in English at ULM invites applications for the position of tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in African-American Literature. We are interested in scholars whose research program focuses on one or more of the following related areas: African-American Literature, Black Studies, African Diasporic Studies, or Caribbean Studies. Preferred secondary areas of expertise may include composition studies or creative nonfiction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach 4 courses per semester, including upper division courses in African-American literature, general education courses, and composition, as required
- Advise and mentor students at the undergraduate and M.A. level
- Maintain an active role in research and service
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in English or closely related field, with an emphasis on African-American Literature
- Evidence of excellence in teaching and research
