The English department at the University of Colorado Denver invites applications for a Tenure Track Advanced Assistant or Associate Professor in Linguistics who will also serve as the Academic Director of the English as a Second Language Academy (50%), pending budgetary approval.  Primary specialization in English as a Second/Other Language.  Secondary specialization open.  Tenure home in either the Department of English or Modern Languages, depending on research and teaching expertise.  Teaching load is 1/1 with research and service expectations. Required Experience:

  • Earned doctorate in Linguistics, English or English Education
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Experience supervising and mentoring faculty
  • Evidence of teaching excellence
  • Evidence of a strong scholarly record
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience supervising and mentoring administrative staff
  • Expertise in Reading, Writing, and Communicating across the Curriculum
  • Experience in an Intensive English Program
  • Experience recruiting international students
