Position Description

We invite applications for an Assistant Professor of English in Writing Center Administration and Rhetoric and Composition Studies, a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track position to begin August 2022.  This faculty member will be responsible for running the English Department Writing Center and teaching a reduced load of courses in the field of rhetoric and composition studies, as well as speech, composition, and literature, according to department practice and policy; conducting scholarly/creative research sufficient for tenure and advancement; and engaging in appropriate service. A Ph.D. in English with a specialization in Writing Center Administration and Rhetoric and Composition Studies by the appointment date is required.  The ability to teach composition and evidence of excellent teaching and scholarly potential are also required.  Preference may be given to candidates with a subspecialty in Writing Across the Curriculum and/or pedagogy.  The salary is contingent upon qualifications, experience, and needs of the university.
