Assistant Professor of English and Digital Studies - Tenure-Track

The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in English and Digital Studies, to begin August 2022. Candidates must have interdisciplinary interests and the ability to teach both American literature and Digital Humanities courses. A wide range of research specialties may be considered, but particular attention will be given to candidates whose work uses digital methodology, is attentive to issues of diversity and representation, and focuses on American literary studies.

Teaching (4/4) includes general education courses, courses for the Digital Studies certificate, and American literature courses for the English major and minor. For Digital Studies, the candidate will teach the basics of coding and textual markup and help students create and manage digital projects. In English literature, the successful candidate must be able to teach through a wide range of periods and across genres.

Applicants should have in hand by fall 2022 a PhD in English, Digital Humanities with an emphasis on literature, or a closely related field. The application letter should address college-level teaching experiences and methods, experience with and/or ability to teach the fields sought, and research interests, methods, and processes that relate to both literary studies and digital projects.
