Assistant Professor of Children's and Young Adult Literature

The Department of English at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a full- time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Children’s and Young Adult Literature with expertise in African American, Latinx, and/or multi-cultural literature. Candidates must have a PhD in English, American Studies, or other fields related to the study of children’s and YA literature at time of appointment (August 16, 2022); demonstrated engagement in the field through doctoral course work and/or publications, conference presentations, or other professional activity; and potential for excellence in research and teaching, including the ability to offer core survey courses in children’s/YA literature, as well as special topics and graduate courses. The teaching load in English is typically 2/2.
