Faculty Position in the Department of English

The Department of English  at American University of Sharjah seeks a full-time faculty member to teach academic writing courses starting in Fall 2022. Candidates should have a master’s degree in a relevant area including rhetoric and composition, applied linguistics, English for Academic Purposes (EAP), TESOL or a closely related field, and a specialization and interest in academic writing.

 

Candidates should have demonstrated commitment to excellence in developing academic literacy and evidence of some scholarship in this area. Candidates should have a minimum of three years’ experience teaching composition or academic writing in North American-style higher education. Overseas teaching experience is an advantage. 

 

Successful candidates will have a strong record of excellence in teaching and a demonstrated commitment to productive institutional service.
