Assistant Professor of Rhetoric and Writing Studies

The Department of English at the University of North Texas seeks applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Rhetoric and Writing Studies starting in Fall 2020. Qualifications for the position include a PhD in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, or a closely related feld. •  Translingual Writing (multilingualism, pedagogy, composition theory, assessment)

Successful candidates will be expected to publish, teach two courses per semester in our rhetoric and writing concentration, and engage in service to the department, college, and university.

The new hire will join a diverse, collaborative, internationally recognized group of colleagues in the Department of English, who are all deeply invested in student success and in extending research in our felds. Our rhetoric and writing faculty teach in our thriving undergraduate concentration and direct our first-year writing program on a rotating basis. We also publish in writing studies, rhetorical history and historiography, feminist rhetorics, writing program studies, and rhetorical theory.
