Description

The Department of French and Italian at Vanderbilt University invites applications for a non-tenure-track Lecturer in French to begin January 1, 2022 or August 16, 2022. The successful candidate would receive a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal conditional on institutional need and instructor performance. Lecturers teach a 3-3 course load, advise students, participate in extra-curricular activities and may perform administrative duties as needed. 

The successful candidate must have superior level proficiency in French and be able to teach all levels of undergraduate French language, including phonetics and conversation. Special consideration will be given to applicants with demonstrated excellence in teaching, experience in course coordination / supervision as well as familiarity with current trends in second language acquisition and foreign language pedagogy. Ph.D. in hand no later than the start of the appointment.
