Tenured/Tenure-track Position in Humanities - Gender and Sexuality

NYU Shanghai is currently inviting applications for a position at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor in gender and sexuality studies. We are especially interested in candidates working on issues related to gender and sexuality in literature and other forms of expressive culture, and whose research cuts across traditional disciplinary boundaries. Teaching obligations will be to the Humanities degree program, which has disciplinary strengths in history, philosophy, literature and the visual arts. We seek candidates who have completed a Ph.D. in these or related fields by the time of appointment, which is expected to be September 2022.

Terms of employment at NYU Shanghai are comparable to NYU New York and other U.S. institutions with respect to research start-up funds and compensation, and they include housing subsidies and educational subsidies for children. Faculty may in certain cases have the opportunity to spend time at NYU New York and other sites of the NYU Global Network, engaging in both research and teaching.
