Associate or Full Professor, Modern and Contemporary Spanish Literature, College of Arts & Sciences

The Department of Romance Studies at Boston University invites applications for the position of Associate or Full Professor of Spanish (tenured) with specialization in modern and contemporary Spanish literature and its transatlantic dimensions. This tenured appointment entails teaching in our undergraduate and graduate programs. Starting date: July 1, 2022.

We seek applications from candidates who, through the excellence of their teaching, scholarship and service to the profession and the community, will contribute to the efforts of the Department and Boston University to strengthen racial, ethnic and intellectual diversity.

Fields of expertise may include any genre of Spanish literature, with secondary expertise in the cultural and intellectual history of exchange, dialogue and debate between Spain and the Americas. Candidates should have a native or native-like command of Spanish and English, the ability to direct graduate research on different literatures of the Spanish-speaking world, and a distinguished record of research and teaching.
